le gluttony x pasarbella gourmet hop.
i actually found out that le gluttony was having a pop up on pasarbella through the sugar app. they were selling the gourmet hop pass on the app, which entitled buyers to get five food items from participating merchants. i decided to buy it on the app (since it was much cheaper and i am quite aunty at times) and dragged my mum and sister there last saturday.what i didn't realize, though, was that portions would be smaller than the regular ones. strangely enough, it wasn't stated on the pass. since i got it for cheaper anyway i didn't really mind, but it made me wonder about those people who got it for the regular price. it would actually make more sense for people to actually buy the items straight instead of redeeming it with the pass, given that it would be around the same price anyway. weird.
portions were smaller, but that kind of worked out well anyway since i got to try more stuff! clockwise from top left- lox bagel from two men bagel house, chilli crab pasta from the quarters, paella from le patio, tom yum cream pasta from cicely kitchen and a burrito with corn chips and guacamole from sea salt caribbean deli.
also had the tuna burger below, from oceans of seafood. service was spotty and we waited a really long time for the buzzer to sound. i liked the tuna patty, but there was way too much of the sauce (a mayo that leant towards the sweet side). weirdly enough what my mum liked was the sauce. tastes really differ.
really wanted to get some more savoury stuff (because i am a bottomless pit), especially the pulled pork sandwich from sea salt deli- i've really missed it. how often am i at pasarbella, anyway?! but everyone else was full so i had no choice but to comply.
dessert was naomi from laman's delight and a tiramisu from provi5ion. the naomi was a slightly alcoholic chocolate cake, with chocolate shavings on top. surprisingly enough, it wasn't overly sweet, which i appreciate. i like cakes, but super sweet ones scare me. we were given a smaller portion than usual because of the pass, but it was actually enough for three of us. can't imagine having the actual portion! the tiramisu was okay, nothing to shout about though i liked the strong alcohol taste.
i actually like going to pasarbella. it's a bit like a high class hawker centre- so many things to try and choose from. if only it were more accessible! even with the shuttle bus i find it such a hassle to get there.
