ippudo express, changi airport.
ever since i heard that changi airport's ippudo express has dip sandwiches, i've been looking forward to eating it. so after returning from phuket, L and i headed off in search of it. we landed in t2, but ippudo was in t3's departure area. took a skytrain over (such is our determination to eat) and wandered around for a while before finding it. (was initially wondering if we could even access it, but turns out that yes, it's possible.)
this was their menu. i was briefly tempted by the maze soba, but i figured that i might as well eat something that isn't available elsewhere. so i went for the chicken sandwich with japanese curry dip ($7).
this was my sandwich, which came with a runny curry dip. was touted as a japanese curry dip, but didn't exactly taste like one. would've liked it to be less runny and more sweet than sour.
still, it was a passable sandwich, with a crisp baguette that i liked and enough chicken filling to be satisfying. it was difficult to actually dip the sandwich as it was intended though- the filling would fall out into the sauce. so i ended up just pouring the sauce into my sandwich. i felt the dip was more a gimmick than anything else, though i liked that serving it separately meant that my bread didn't become soggy.
not sure if i'll have it again. sure, it's better than a lot of other food at the airport, like the delifrance sandwich that i got before leaving singapore, but i'm not sure if it's worth the effort going over for this.
